The airport transfer is easier when you know where you are going after the bus. Start with your hotel’s street address and entrance, then choose a route that suits your luggage and mobility needs. A downtown address alone is not enough to select a stop.
Choose the right 747 route
STM’s 747 connects YUL with Lionel-Groulx and the downtown area. Route 2 ends at Lionel-Groulx; Route 1 continues downtown. The airport stop is at door 28. As of this guide’s update, the downtown terminus is stop 52905 at René-Lévesque and Berri. Check STM’s current map before travelling.
Compare the whole journey
Compare staying on the bus with transferring to the métro using your exact destination. Count the final walk, stairs and transfers, not just the time on the vehicle. With heavy bags, a route with fewer changes may be easier even if it takes longer. If you need a step-free journey, check the specific station entrances and current elevator availability before choosing a transfer.
Sort out the fare before boarding
Consult STM’s fare instructions rather than assuming an ordinary single ticket or contactless bank card will work. Airport vending machines accept cards; payment on the bus requires exact coins. Keep your proof of payment and follow the instructions for the fare you buy.
Keep arrival day flexible
Avoid a tightly timed restaurant or attraction reservation immediately after landing. Immigration, baggage collection and road conditions are outside your itinerary’s control. Save your accommodation’s check-in instructions before leaving airport Wi-Fi. If arrival is late, confirm how to enter the building and choose a nearby food option rather than planning a cross-city outing.
Plan the return separately
Save the return boarding point while planning, but check it again on departure day. The stop you use on arrival may not be where you board in the opposite direction. Work backwards from your airline’s recommended airport arrival time, adding room for the walk to the stop and transport delays. This guide does not promise a fixed airport travel time.
